Mass Spectrometry

  • Rapid protein identification is provided by peptide mass fingerprinting using MALDI-TOF/MS after protein cleavage in-gel, on-membrane or in solution. Furthermore, this technique allows a purity check of a protein or peptide preparation including a precise molecular weight determination.
  • For those analyses the latest technologies are available including MALDI-TOF-TOF (4800 Proteomics Discovery System) which allows fast, accurate and highly reproducible identification of proteins by peptide mass fingerprinting and peptide sequencing.
  • ESI (Electro Spray Ionization) MS can be done on a variety of modern systems like an ORBI-Trap, a QTRAP (5500) as well as on an Ion Trap (Esquire), both coupled to multi-dimensional chromatography systems.
